We drove all the way up from Rhode Island because the website said it was OPEN and that they had TOURS! Well it was closed! The staff was outside having a meeting and was useless as they saw me attempt several times to get in to the building right next to them and NO ONE bothered to say it was CLOSED! Seriously?? I couldn’t believe how lazy they were! I finally went up to them after several attempts to look around for help and asked the staff if they were open and one woman said no. I politely asked if they should probably put that on their website. She condescendingly answered “well we just ASSUME people would know that due to COVID-19. Then she said in a sarcastic manner “but please walk around”, with a resounding “ENJOY!” There’s nothing to enjoy unless you want to drive hours to see the dozen cows in pasture! So now I hope they ENJOY my review! Town/Owners please find new and helpful staff because these people weren’t! What a colossal waste of time! We’ll never return because of our experience! Don’t waste your time because there’s nothing but a few plain buildings. It is after all Shaker style. Change your website!
Wonderful spot when going. Right now just outdoor tours on weekends. Hopefully will get back on track after the pandemic
Didn't hate it. Hit wrong star. Probably a lovely historic place to visit. Mostly closed because of covid. Not wheel chair user friendly at all. We could not even view grounds /buildings .
Beautiful property. They have done an excellent job keeping the history intact.
We got to go during COVID so no tours inside buildings. Our docent for the 14:00 tour was Maryeveline Monty, a total jewel of a guide. Super knowledgeable, a font of insight on how the Shakers founded, grew, lived and worked. We will be back after ‘Ms. Rona’ is banished.
