My wife and I have taken the Conway scenic tour to Crawford notch twice. Both times were enjoyable, but the second time we did first class. We had lunch on the return trip which was very good. This tour is so historic with breath taking views when you get closer to the notch. I did not have any issues purchasing our ticket's on their website. When we arrived picked up ticket's at the will call window.
We took the valley train to Conway. The staff was very nice but the train ride was more suitable for families with little kids; we have three adults and two teenagers and we were expecting more scenic views. The ride itself was very short and it was mostly just going behind someone’s house and didn’t really have much scenic views to enjoy.nWe give this another chance and went for the 5.5 hours ride. There were more scenic views at the last hour of the ride but the first hour was still mostly behind residential areas and trees. The train was swaying a lot, which made me very nauseous. The stops were great so I could go outside and stretch to help with the nausea. Sure, the some of the views were great but I would opt for going by car next time so it would be more comfortable. The swaying was just too much for me to handle, I have never had motion sickness when going by train before so I was very surprised at how bad I felt. The food was also very bad, we were in coach so we ordered the food and they brought it to our seats. For $6, I got an ice cold bagel that was not even sliced, the utensils were too flimsy for me to cut my cold bagel, I was already feeling bad from the swaying and the ice cold bagel definitely didn’t help, I threw most of the bagel away.
I was so excited about this rail trip but couldn’t enjoyed it much cause was very limited view from inside of the rail compartment.you can enjoy more if you take car ride in the road way of your Conway station.i wouldn’t refer to anybody to take 1:40 minutes ride and see nothing but riding inside of the forest ud83cudf33.
Very organized! We took the Conway train so short and minimal scenery wouldnTake one of the other routes for better scenery but this was good for a toddler
Been several times and plan on returning in the future, great for the kiddos and parents alike.
