Last year I inquired about a property on a website and was directed to Kat. She responded quickly. She then was able to give me information on buying a home. She worked around my hectic squedual and family circumstances. She was patient with me and worked with me until I was ready to buy my home. As of yesterday I am officially a home owner and I couldnt be happier. Kat was amazing and made the whole process enjoyable. I highly recommend!
My Key T (01/31/2018)
I saw the advertisement on Craigslist for a 4 bedroom apartment in Montgomery MN (204 1st st S. Montgomery MN 56069, and down the street also there was a 2 bedroom (104 1st St. S. Montgomery MN 56069), both the ads on Craigslist listed the properties as available now for rent and to text Nicole for more information.nnWell I texted Nicole, Saturday morning at 9:00am asking her if the apartment was still available. I got no response, so I waited until Monday, and thinking she would call me back as soon as their office was open. Well it was about noon on Monday and no response so I called her. She told me that yes the apartments were available, and she had accepted a couple of applications already and shown the apartments on Friday.nnSo I set up a time for the following day (Tuesday at 10:30am), to drive down an hour each way, and see the apartments. I told Nicole that I am mostly interested in the 4 bedroom, but since I will be driving an hour to see it, I might as well check out the 2 bedroom as well.nnWell when I get down there, I see that the building is very rough looking from the exterior and the windows looked opaque. I thought maybe it is just an old building and they have the interior in good renovated shape. I drove my truck around the back to park there, and I could see there had been some severe structural damage to building, because it was a brick building but they had replaced a large portion of back wall with cinderblocks.nnWell after getting inside 204 1st st. I thought to myself this place was a complete dump! It was not even close to livable, and it had sheetrock all over the floor where Nicole told me that the ceiling had dropped out. The bathroom was disgusting, and all kinds of issues, the refrigerator was full of stains and rotten. I was going to look out on back balcony, and Nicole tells me not to go out there because it is not structurally safe! Well the whole apartment looked like it was falling apart. The cause of ceiling falling out was probably water damage, and so there is a lot of other health risks associated this property.nnOn top of it all, she could not even answer my simple questions about living there, for example: how does the garbage work? What type of heating system? What are internet providers in Montgomery? The simple things you want to know when considering moving into an apartment. What is the typical utility bill cost? She responded with “I don’t know” to all of my questions, and she didn’t even make an attempt to answer them or take out a pen and paper and say “I will find that out for you,” and she did not interact with enthusiasm as someone who is genuinely interested in taking care of you.nnI felt that this was a disrespectful waste of my time and that I would have to come back again to see how it will really look because this was not live-able at all. And I asked if they will have it inspected by the city and cleared, because there is high potential for contaminations from mold, and other things. And she said, “yes, they would have it inspected and that they are accepting applications now, and when they have an application approved, they will then get the apartment straightened up.” Well this was backwards, you should have the property ready to go before you even list it, and especially you should notify a person what is going on before they drive an hour to come and see.nnI called the city of Montgomery to tell them what Miller Real Estate LLC are doing with this property and the city representative seemed to be aware that the 4 bedroom property was unapproved or not ready for a rental license, and asked me to send the screenshots that I took of their craigslist ad describing the property ready and available. They had old photos and were misrepresenting the actual condition of the apartment. I could not believe that they were willing to waste my time like that, and that I was just going to overlook their behavior.
