Officer Ely of the Springville Police Department is wonderful! A lamb escaped the fence of an unknown rancher and was unable to get back into his field. Officer Ely was able to get him by the scruff and pull him to safety. Thanks Officer! We appreciate you!
They have saved me on more than one occasion. I was in a really bad place mentally and begged to be pink slipped because I needed help that the hospital refused to help. The officer took me to get the help I needed. Without that I'd be dead. So thank you to the officer who saved my life that time. And to any of the officers after who came to talk with me when I had no one. You guys rock!!
I think the Springville PD can be misinterpreted. If you do not live here you may not be aware of the drug abuse, suicidal tendency rate or just plain petty thefts that go on here. It is a small town but there are many issues with the youth and drug abuse for prescription drugs
I used to own a business in this city and worked with the city on issues and there are many issues you would not be aware of because the police department does such a great job at policing.
I have encountered some times when I felt that the police were short or maybe not as compassionate ad they could be, but being someone who has lived in small towns facing many issues that the public did not see who's friend was a police officer, I have empathy. Down the street a police car I see almost every day so undoubtedly a officer lives there. I noticed it started being parked there a few.months ago and I will be honest it is nice to see local police living in our local community.
I honestly dont like seeing the Draper, Eagle Mountain, Unified, Provo and Orem police all living here in Springville. I feel the locals who live and police our streets live in the communnity they serve do a better job.
I have had police tail using our car, been followed etc. But who cares? I am not a criminal. If anything I think we should have more of a police prescence at truck stops and especially WalMart where you see RVs parked and changing cars constantly.
I also feel there are a lot of late night drivers parked at the park by the city building and that is odd.
If you could police the truck stops and especially WalMart more that would be great.
Before you write a bad review ask yourself do you live here? I was in a bad accident here a few years ago and the police drove me home, gave me great support and were kind. I have lived here 4 years and never had an issue. All these bad reviews are from people who dont even live here.
Get to know your police. Go to the Firemans breakfast. They are just trying to protect the city so it doesnt become a Las Vegas. We dont want crime to go up. Get to know the issues in your city so you know what your local police are dealing with. In the last 2 years we have seen more murders and criminals then the previous 2 years before that. Even in our small town issues are compounding. Be the solution for our police not the problem.
Springville police is the worst. Pulled over my husband over a very minor infraction, and harrassed us with our children in the backseat. My kids were shaken up and I had to give them the "not all cops are good guys" speech. I've always taught them to respect law enforcement and 99 percent of the time they are to be trusted and are there to help. Not these officers. I'm sure glad that our family does NOT live in Springville or even Utah County.
Springville City Police Department went up and beyond the call of duty when I found myself in a real bind. I live in PA and needed a VIN verification from a car I own currently in Springville in order to register the vehicle in PA. Karen in dispatch was very helpful and sent an officer out ASAP to fill out the form that needed to be faxed two ways. This was the perfect example of protect and serve. Thank you!
