The ladies leading the program here are phenomenal, although a bit overwhelmed with age gaps. To make the most of the program, the middle school children need to be separated from the lower school children, as they have different needs. The teachers are spread thin. I think this requires another Champions teacher to facilitate the middle school students in the library, where they can concentrate on their work, having supervision and promoting safety. Many of the activities are geared for younger children, which bore the older ones. Also, older children are not able to concentrate on their studies due to the natural play and noise that the younger ones create. The balance is a delicate one, but much needed for the MacArthur program.
