Marcia and Heather of MaineStay Vacations, had a tough situation to deal with this past October - they were put in the position by one of the houses the represent to have to deliver some really bad news to us in the midst of the most difficult season of wedding planning. Just 5 days before our wedding and only 2 days before check-in: the property host of the house we rented decided NOT to rent us the property which we had on deposit for almost a year. We we got the call, we were speechless. The Captain's Point property was in the perfect location and had potential for great photo op spots for my fiance's getting ready space and where the guys were going to hang out on the last evening before our wedding. It was the perfect location. But with less than 48 hours before my fiance's parents were to arrive for check-in we were left without a house for them and scrambling to find other accommodations with practically nothing left available. Not only were we scrambling because it was so last minute but my fiance and I were also about to leave for Maine early the next morning and packing up a Suburban with everything but the kitchen sink proved to be stressful enough.nMarcia and Heather genuinely seemed heartbroken to tell us the news and they did everything they could possibly do from that evening until the following morning. They were committed to helping us find something that we were equally satisfied with and they immediately reached out to several property owners of similar size, even those who showed no availability. They remained in touch through phone calls and texting. The following morning we finally got good news! Luckily the owners of Seaside Sunrise were doing some renovation work, and with what I can only assume as a compassionate owner who understood our predicament, rescheduled the work and was more than happy to rent to us. And luckily the property worked for us just perfectly. We can't possibly thank Marcia and Heather enough to express our gratitude in helping us find accomodations for what could've ended in a complete disaster. Through this tough time they proved their sincere dedication to righting the wrong of a situation outside of their control and ultimately saved the day. So much appreciated. Would recommend using MaineStay Vacations simply for the fact that’s is run by such solid good people.
