Dac's Smokehouse BBQ East Peoria

I don't often leave reviews, but this is the best barbecue I've ever had in the Peoria area. Brisket is something I always get from barbecue places, and I'm always disappointed. But not at Dac's. Great brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, cornbread, and pork rinds. Big selection of sauces and aioli. Will be going back soon!

Pleasantly surprised!nI did not know about this place, I found it because I stopped at the gas station it’s attached to, and decided to give it a shot. The restaurant is lackluster, nothing special happening inside.nThe staff was very friendly, and the food was pricey, but worth it!nI had the pork belly sandwich, which was on special. Great smoked meat, fresh toppings and a brioche bun. Unexpected attention to detail. I also had a side of potato salad, which was also surprisingly good.nBBQ joints pop up all the time in our area, a lot of them don’t really bring anything special to the table. Dac’s is an exception. There is care and attention to detail put into their meats and recipes and it shows!nnFor me, making this a 5 star experience would mean curating atmosphere. At this point there is none, to a startling level. There is no significant signage, I didn’t even know the place was there. The interior is utilitarian and stark white. There is no room for seating. Waiting for your food positions you in an awkward stare into the open kitchen, which is staffed by 16 year olds dressed for a mall hangout. The carry out packaging couldn’t be cheaper, including the thinnest plastic fork and whisper of a napkin I’ve ever seen.nThe food will keep me coming back, but at these prices there are some sensory elements this location could improve to help justify the expense.

I can't say enough good things about this place. They expanded...during Covid! That's how amazing it is! The pulled pork egg rolls are ridiculously good. Don't miss out!

What a great pitstop in East Peoria for BBQ. Not only can you get it to go, they even have a few spots for you to sit, eat and go. Definitely the place to stop at if you're driving by!

I've dined in at the East Peoria location and had takeout from the Campustown location. Food was excellent both times. Service was wonderful in EP. Highly recommend!
