It was absolutely amazing! The gems, petrified wood, and other artifacts of Lafayette Funk were so interesting. We also toured the house and heard the stories of the Funk family and the way they have helped people close to home and around the world was truly incredible!

We had a wonderful tour. The guide was passionate and knowledgeable. About half way through the house tour, our 7 and 8 year old were asking questions freely and getting involved with the tour guide. There is a lot of local and state history here. The rock and gem collection was worth the trip itself! Don't skip this second part. We recommend a visit!

After living in Blooington for 22 years, we are so happy to have discovered this gem! We brought my WWII Veteran Father in Law and a great time was had by all! The Gem and Rock Museum was spectacular! Our guide was very knowledgeable. Overall, a wonderful place for all except perhaps those with young children. They may get bored and antsy.

Unfortunately, we only had time to do the gem, mineral, and fossil museum (and not the house). We didn't know this was by appointment only, but Bill accommodated us anyway and gave a brilliant tour! We (me, wife, 2 young kids) had a blast! They have many one of a kind items here. This place is a true secret!

Friendly and knowledge tours. The people that run the museums are passionate about their work and can tell anything you any to know. The collection of farming equipment and rocks, fossils, and minerals are impressive. We went on a fieldtrip and decided to come back a week later for a longer visit. Excellent place to visit to learn some history.
