C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum

The museum was open during the Clinton Apple and pork festival. The people we're very knowledgeable about the items on display. They were dressed in period clothing and if they knew another curator had more knowledge about something they didn't hesitate to get them involved. The items on displays are of a wide variety, something for everybody.

Beautiful antiques, Very knowledgeable staff. Many unique features. Was told they have several different tour themes so you can go several times and have a different experience each visit.

What an amazing facility, managed by a great young lady. This museum is a hidden gem in Central Illinois. Every September the Apple and Pork festival is held here. But it's hard to really take in the history of this historic home when it's crowded. Go during the week and Joey will share stories about the people who lived here when Abe Lincoln was riding the local judicial circuit. Many historical items have made their way back to Clinton and are housed here.

Love this place. The town is SO FRIENDLY. It kicks of the fall craft showsnThe food is good too.

Apple and pork festival was fun. Wish it was more about the food and the history. Would have liked to seen some historical reenactments or re-creations.nToo many vendors.
