Easier train station to get on then the one in downtown La Grange.

My paper route from 1961-1965 was on north Stone Avenue. I road a Stingray bike complete with a banana seat and large front paperboy basket. I'd typically deliver 60-70 Chicago Tribunes, 3-5 Chicago Sun Times, and perhaps 2-3 Wall Street Journals over a 5 block area, on both sides of the street, Monday through Friday, always delivering before 7am so that the train commuters could have their daily paper to read on the Burlington train to Chicago.nnPaul Turner, my best friend, lucked out and got to man the Chicago Tribune newspaper stand inside the Stone Avenue station for several years until he moved away. All the paper boys wished for such luck. It was a nice place to be, warm and toasty, when I was out delivering papers in January at -5F....nnArchitecturally, it's still a bright gem in the LaGrange collection. Kind of story-book in so many ways. I'm visiting it again after 50 years out west in Colorado and Arizona. My 50th high school reunion, Sept.21 and Sept.22, brought me back to LTHS and LaGrange and I am overwhelmed with the feelings of my childhood and the high school years. Wow....
