Re/Max 2000

I bought a home in February of 2020 it’s November of 2020 now, and I found termite damage and wet wood rot in my basement going into my sub-floor. Also I have a leak in my two of my window frames which I knew nothing about. As a disabled veteran I can’t afford to just pay from all this repairs upfront. So I reached out to the Realty company and the lawyer company that Dealt with my house negotiation contract. Let me tell you I didn’t hear not once that my Situation will be fixed or handled. Nor did they care to ask if the was water Further damaging the house. I’m a little skeptical of the inspector that the realtor company referred me to because this guy missed some of the most important house Damaging size to look for now I have to sue the previous owners.

Debra Johnston rented a property to me located at 1839 Reichert Ave October 15th 2017. I paid for the full year up front plus a security deposit of $1100 paid to ReMax. It’s been 32 days since I left the property & NO ONE has said anything about my deposit. ReMax is not willing to assist in ANY WAY & I was told early on that ReMax was not “Property Managment”. I will NEVER again pay ANY Landlord a full years rent up front due the experience I had. I find it very distasteful that ReMax/Debra would even request that cashiers checks are made out to them & then wash their hands from assisting in the return of remaining monies. While the manager was quick in responding to my first issue after vacating the premises, no one is willing to assist with anything afterwards. In my opinion it feels like a SCAM! I’m pretty sure that the entire time I lived on the property I was “allegedly” being recorded through video & audio closed circuit. According to the sign on the garage and one day a radio frequency came through all of the MANY smoke detectors. Fortunately I was able to catch a few seconds on video. Not to mention the landlord (Erik Barnas) would ALWAYS want to come over & discuss the exact things I assumed was being discussed in the privacy of my own home. The very first time meeting him he immediately wanted to discuss “Black Lives Matter” & Colin Kapernick. How appropriate. The home needs A LOT of updating, all the windows require a lot of strength to even open. He’s only interested in placing bandaids on things that need to be replaced. His best friend whom lived across the street would sit in a chair in his window & snarl at us constantly. Thank goodness that ended after a few months of feeling uncomfortable. Debra has told me that people try to fight getting their deposit back but it doesn’t work & said “Good Luck”! So in my opinion I would definitely avoid that property & allowing Debra Johnston to be your agent. Meanwhile I’m grateful for recordings & photos. Just a friendly warning that their are VERY nasty people in the world with smiling faces & hateful hearts.
