Champaign Police Department

I was robbed at gunpoint and not only did they not make a public report about it, but they also didn’t arrest the person holding a gun to me and my friend because it was their first offense. I also couldn’t get any of my money back and didn’t have a job and it was my birthday money. Very sad that the cops did nothing for our safety.

Got mugged off campus and the police managed to locate the vehicle. But they didn’t pursue the case because of lack of “video evidence”. Such BS. Useless law enforcement.

i have delt with numerous officers from this department as my job unfortunately involved a lot of calls to champaign police. in my experience, these deputies, including the dispatchers, are very polite, impartial, and professional. response times may vary as they are sometimes swamped with calls, but they tend to deliver exceptional service. even with regard petty or tedious incidents, they are an invaluable resource to this city.
