Cahokia Mounds Museum Society

A wonder of the ancient world right in our own back yard. Worth reading up on before visiting, so you get an idea of just what all we don't know about the folks who built it. Interpretive Center / Museum is open, but only allowing 30 people in at a time. Worth checking into before wandering the grounds.

Terrific exhibits, and much more information than I was expecting. Unfortunately the interactive displays were turned off due to COVID, but everything else was still very engaging. Educational and fun. Well worth spending a day at the museum and strolling through the mounds. The gift shop is quite nice as well.

Great museum, a too hidden of a gem. Exhibit is very well done. Limited hours during Covid-19. Call ahead for indoor operations, outside open all days.

The staff was very knowledgeable and more than willing to share what they knew about the Indians. Absolutely loved it.
