Great idea of the tree walk by Marietta Main Street. Very nice display of trees and a great opportunity for businesses and community members to decorate trees to show support and remembrance. #mymarietta
The history packed into this two block park is amazing. A monument by the creator of Mt Rushmore up through a war memorial are there for the viewing. This is a historical city, and this showcases some of the history.
Annual Sweet corn Festival, was a wonderful day in a beautiful park by the river. Car show, free rides and activities for the kids, petting zoo and lots of food, especially sweet corn.
This park (and the gazebo in particular) is a great location for events of all types. Whether you are comming here to watch Shakespeare in the park or attend a wedding ceremony, the area is great for any occasion.nnHowever, if you are planing an event here, be wary of the weather; when big storms come in, the rising water from the river will sometimes cover the bike trail next to the river in mud which can take weeks to be washed or moved away. While this only happens once every year or two, it can cause the area to be unfit for many events.
Started at the park and walked to both ends of the bike trail with my wife. Its an easy walk, mostly flat and along the river. Just a couple sketchy spots on this 8.5+ mile walk. Only bathroom along the way is past the stables by the ball field.
