Interesting historic site if you're in the area. We happened to stop here and enjoyed a picnic on the grounds, short walk on the nature trail and a stroll through the museum. Everything is well organized with informative signage and markers for the past archeological digs. The only downside is that the staff locked the museum and gift shop doors (without warning) for their lunch while we were still there, so we had to wait about 15 min for them to come back out and re-open the museum.

A cute little mound site in the southwestern corner of Kentucky where I first saw the Natchez four directions/four winds/continuity motif.

Nice stop. Gates open and able to walk around grounds. Museum and gift shop were still closed because of Covid closures

Free picnic area. Clean restrooms. Passing through, not paying 6 bucks. If l was a state resident l would wonder what my state taxes are for.

Very interesting and fun. Had lots of information and coming from someone who studies past cultures starting from the 1500s all the way back to when the first humans were still hunting mammoths (for fun haha), I learned quite a bit here and seriously enjoyed how well they put everything together (and even how well everything was laid out on the diagrams inside the excavation site). The signs on the mounds were very informative and my son absolutely enjoyed the little trail they have set up in the woods. I also appreciate the strict social distancing and usage of masks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming up here and wanting a fun, family-friendly activity *:)
