Since I'm an extended stay occupant I would have to say that it is well worth the weekly rental. The owner/ manager is extremely nice and the rooms are updated as well. I have no complaints about the American inn and will continue to reside here until I can move.

Worst motel experience ever and the double charged me for it. I booked on Expedia and chose to pay in person as an option and paid cash. A week later they charged my card so I paid double to stay in a disgusting room with hairs on the sheets, refrigerator outside on the pavement, loud voices that seemed to be doing drugs coming through the bathroom vent. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

If you got a tent, go sleep in the woods. This place is horrible. The only thing more friends than this place is all the meth smoked in it. The only plus side is that I didn't see any bugs. Besides that everything was dirty and needed to be cleaned or thrown away. The towels were so used they were to the point of starting to become see though. Within the first hour of being there a couple got into a fight the guy left with a bloodied mouth, and there was a car accident neither time did the management step in. Asked for a 5 am wake up call there was no room phone and not one did my phone ring. Spend that extra $20 down the road and get a decent room. Trust me

As of some friday in the month of June (2020) ownership of this hotel has been transferred. This used to be owned by a VERY friendly, interactive, and caring and polite family and had been the only american owned hotel in Calhoun county (as they claimed) but the new owner owns 3/4 of the local hotels now excluding the McClellan inn. If you need a place to stay PLEASE DO NOT stay at the Royal inn, American Express or the Lenlock inn as they're all owned by the same family which has some of the worst customer service I ever have seen or will see at any hotel
