1st Rate Plumbing

We were alerted of a leak by our neighbor a few weeks ago when she texted to say she heard water pouring out under our house while no one was home. Sure enough, we soon had an explanation to our extreme rise in the water bill. The water heater is deep behind a wall inside our closet and clothes were wet and moldy- the water was bubbling out of two rusted holes in the top.nWe called First Rate because they’ve helped us with emergencies before (we’ve had 3 leaks under our house at nearly same spot due to plumbing decisions made decades ago). Melissa (I think is her name) is always cheerful, helpful, truthful and realistic about the situation. She let me know to call as soon as the new water heater arrived and they would try to work us in that day despite being completely booked up (our family of 4 with school-aged kids had been turning the water on/off at the “main” for flushing toilets & quick 5 minute uses, so basically living without water for 2 weeks-so she understood this as an emergency)nPlumbers arrived less than an hour after I called. They were kind & knowledgeable immediately and even though my husband was there, I would’ve felt comfortable even if I’d needed to let them inside to work while I was alone. In fact, I’d have trusted them to work when no one was home. They had a hard job in a cramped cluttered house that’s been without water for awhile and it’s obvious, and they didn’t make me feel embarrassed about about the mess or the mold. They got the old rusty water heater pumped & out, the new one installed and our water on in half the time we expected it to take & they did it without cutting any corners. They stuck around to ensure cold & hot was both working well & the whole family is enjoying water pressure that we have never had before (probably because there was always a leak somewhere). They also installed shut off valves at the water heater which were inexplicably missing before, which is why we couldn’t just cut off the water heater & keep cold water in the rest of the house. Then the bill was less than expected to top it off. I feel SUPER lucky to have such talented & honest plumbers so close to my home and will absolutely continue to rely on and recommend First Rate Plumbing.

I disagree they are high priced. Rodney has worked for me on several houses over many years and I have always been very happy with the price and a job well done!! Some of my renovations were complicated but he always did a great job!

If you just need a small job done.. forget it.. the office lady said bigger jobs come first .. she was very rude and snotty.. point blank..

1st Rate Plumbing is a shining example of what a small business should be. They responded quickly to my inquiry and I talked to a real person about my issue. They responded quickly to my home. The repairs were done well and fast. The price was far less than I was expecting. I am very impressed with them and will pass their name along if I hear anyone needing plumbing services. Thank you.
