There needs to be a minus rating for Hallmark Realty! DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT RENT FROM THEM unless you like being screwed over! Jerry McCalister is a crook & a thief! You could also add SCUMLORD to the list for him. It started with us from day one on the deposit when he charged us $100 more than it was supposed to be. Then a week before our rent was even due he started blowing up our phones telling us we needed to pay our rent! Really?! A week before it's due? Not to mention the months we paid rent twice in the same month because he started calling asking if we were gonna pay the rent. I even had every receipt from rent that we had paid but he's good. He'll make you second guess yourself even with the proof you've already paid it sitting right in front of you. The two years we lived in a rental house from Hallmark Realty was nothing but pure hell! We were ahead on rent; even had the receipts to prove it! Sat down with him to go over it and his printouts are something only he can conjour up! They make no sense whatsoever! We had several other friends of ours who are realtors look at the printout and they could make no sense of it. When I called him out on the way he was trying to finagle the numbers to make it look like we were behind, he so rudely put his hand up, told me he wasn't to that part yet and proceeded to talk over me. He refused to look at what I was saying by completely skipping over it and ignoring the proof at hand that he is a crook. He repeatedly called my husband asking personal business and telling him he needed to go make some more money! Who does that!? Our rent was paid, we were not behind, but in the end, we decided to move out because of the harrasment and headache from Jerry McCalister. He took us for about $2200 more than he should have gotten. I forgot to add the plumbing problems we repeatedly had in the house we rented. He made us go a whole weekend without plumbing (this included not even being able to use the toilet in our house at all and this was around Christmas time too) til plumbers finally showed up late the following Monday afternoon. He told us there was nothing they could do about it over the weekend. What he was really getting at is he wasn't going to pay the extra money to have them called out for an after hours weekend call. I'm pretty sure most plumbing companies have someone on call most of the time & usually respond to emergency calls like that. So we spent the weekend with our house smelling like sewer gas. We ended up having to stay in a hotel for the weekend and then all ended up getting sick from it. So if you don't mind throwing your money away or helping support his drinking habit then he's the realtor for you. But if you want honesty and to be treated right, DO NOT USE HALLMARK REALTY! They are crooks and their rental prices are way too high for the quality of the homes they rent!
