Keller Police Department

Dear Keller Police,nnWhat ever happened to protect and serve? When did radar guns replace community service? I didn't get a ticket; I got something worse: ignored. Ignored in my time of need, because one of your officers preferred pointing his radar gun instead of helping me with a family emergency. My wife was bleeding all over the floor at the Keller elementary school where she teaches your sons and daughters. On my way to help her I stopped and politely asked a police office on the side of the road if he can help me get to her school quickly and safely. He said no and offered to call 911 for me... I’m sorry officer, but I have a cell phone and know how to dial 911... I love police offers and even work with a retired officer, but this has made me lose a little faith that the Keller police are there to protect and serve. My son Johnny likes to play with toy police cars and make siren noises. Even he would know what one of your officers did to me was wrong. I don't want money, I don't even want an apology. I just want you to care. To care for me, to care for my son, to care for my wife. To care about helping the community more than you care about ticketing the community. Sitting in my garage with the door up, drinking a beer late at night. Patrolman drove by, slowed down, and looked. Gave him a wave, he waved back, and drove on.nnLove that. Those guys drive through my neighborhood all the time, and I greatly appreciate it.

I had a traffic stop today by a very courteous officer. I don’t know what his name was, but if you’re reading this, it’s the college student you stopped for speeding today. I’m a young minority who’s heard horrible things about cops in this area and cops in general, but never had to interact with one. The officer who stopped me put my fears to rest. He was so kind and spoke very calmly bc he could tell that I was freaking out. I hear a lot about the negative experiences with cops, so I wanted to take the time to highlight a positive one.

I was working late the other night and stopped by the self serve ice/water vending machine at 377 and Johnson, across from U-haul. A police officer pulled in and asked what I was doing. I told him I had just got off work and was getting a bag of ice, then came the 20 questions, and ran my ID. I was stationed in Germany for 12 years and not once did the polizi ask to see my papers. I keep hearing that America is the home of the free, but I'm starting to think it is just a slogan and not a fact.

Stop light cameras have just been outlawed so watch out for the pigs. They are now at most intersections ticketing for turning right on red. Very crooked pigs.
