I've never had a bad experience with the Desoto Police. I attend the community public safety meetings and city events regularly and the officers including the Chief and very informative. I truly feel they care about community engagement and safety.
The officers in Desoto are awesome....but the administration and those who answer the phone really need training in common customer service. It’s sad! This is a reflection of ALL the corruption and confusion in what use to be a great city.....school district and city government. It’s sad...
On May 18, 2018 I was involved in a hit and run. I was able to get the license plate number. I called 911 and they contacted DeSoto Police. Officer Ziegler arrived in a reasonably time and took the report. I was instructed an investigated would contact me. Since then, I have called, left a voice message and picked up a police report. As of 6/18/18 no response from DeSoto Police. My car received very little damage but it’s the principle. It’s not okay to hit someone and leave the scene. That says a lot about a person’s character. What seems minor may turned into something big when or if she hit and run again.
These officers do an amazing job. I always felt safe when I saw a patrol car in the parks. This department is very active and i have never had an issue. Thanks for all you do.
Watch out for these 'officers.' They point guns at people indiscriminately in violation of both the law and their own policy, with zero accountability. Sadly, this is the new normal in the US of A.
