This is my family's favorite place to hike in DFW. Lots of fun for the kiddos and beautiful scenery for the adults. Always fun to check out the rescued animals they refuge. Totally worth the membership fee!

The experience was enjoyable and the museum was great . However if I had known we would be walking 3-5 miles I would have worn shorts. My son loved all the shell's on display and a little scared when we go to the snakes. Masks a still required for safety and worries of passing viruses to the wildlife or others on the trails. Give yourself 3-4 hours to enjoy the walk/hike. When I first arrived my waze app got a little discombobulated and had me pass the parking lot and had to back track a little.

Glad to find Heard natural science museum. It has a good number of exhibitions and displays, and has trail courses in it. Looking forward to seeing butterflies and wild flowers in Spring.

what a great experience. My wife and I brought our 2 year old and we all had such a great day. One or two of the dinosaurs did scare my son a little, but that was much better than expected as he's never experienced anything like this before. The trails are perfect for younger family members and the wetlands portion of the duck trail was incredible. I used a kid carrier backpack though some families did used jogging strollers with large wheels. One family had a normal stroller they they seemed to be struggling when we passed them. Absolutely recommended and will definitely make visit again.
