Staff is very friendly and helpful with finding what your looking for. They carry a great selection of high quality outdoor gear which can be very hard to find around bcs.
This location is now inside the Ace Hardware... I drove around the parking lot a few times wondering why I couldn't find it. Nice place inside a nice Ace Hardware. Staff was friendly and they carried a small selection of top quality stuff. Some of their fishing kayaks were nice, and apparently they're adding more. Check it out.
Limited selection but it's the only place within a 2 hour drive to buy gear for serious hikers and other outdoor adventurers. Good customer service. Convenient that it's attached to the hardware store too.
I went in yesterday looking for a pair of Chacos, size tiny. While they didn't have a pair of hiking sandals that fit me, Isaiah bent over backwards to find a solution that worked for me. Every staff member I interacted with was phenomenal. I ended up looking everywhere else in town, and they didn't have anything for me either. The folks at Bear Mountain definitely earned my business just by being so helpful and friendly. I came back later that day to buy a pair of Salomon amphibious shoes instead, and will come back to special order my Chacos soon.nnBear Mountain, don't change!
What a great place! The store includes an Ace Hardware and gift shop in addition to the Bear Mountain outfitters. They have a great selection of outdoor and backpacking gear, including footwear and clothing. Definitely carries specialty items you won't find at Academy.
