Our children have attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori School for the past three years. Our children genuinely look forward to attending school each day. We, both parents and children, could not be happier.nnThe Montessori philosophy and Episcopalian tradition of education peacefully provide a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Children are encouraged to pursue work that they find interesting. Teachers then offer related extensions of the subject matter.nnThe teachers do everything within their reach and beyond for each child. St. Paul’s Montessori teachers specialize in understanding stages of child development and recognizing a child’s period of interest in subject matter. We have noticed that this approach has the effect of promoting independence and confidence.nnWe have recommended St. Paul’s to family and friends who have been very thankful to become part of this beautiful community.nnWe would, without hesitation, entrust St. Paul’s to educate our children through high school, given the option.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Montessori School is an incredible place that develops the whole child not only fully implementing the Montessori Method but also allowing student voice and choice. The commitment of the administration and teachers to providing a high quality education is evident every year, and I have personally seen this growth over 8 years. St. Paul’s Montessori School is one of the highest if not the highest recommended school to send children because their success is widely known in the community. They consistently produce results, and have received a 10 year accreditation because of their great success. St. Paul’s Episcopal and Montessori School puts ALL children first as they care about the safety, development, preparedness, and success of their students. This is also evident by the waiting list they have every year because parents want their children to attend this excellent school.
After a confirmed case of pertussis, a potentially fatal disease, the school board made the unanimous decision to require vaccination for enrolled students. This decision was disappointing to a couple of families, but applauded by the vast majority. As I retired pediatrician, I certainly agree with the decision as I have seen too many fatalities from pertussis.nFurthermore, I am personally familiar with the school and believe it to be a very fine opportunity for early childhood and elementary education. The importance of a good education for children in the early phases of their life cannot be overlooked.
Definitely recommended for any parents looking for a school that combines a diverse student body, the student-centered approach of Montessori, and the inclusive Christian ethos of the Episcopal Church. The fine arts programs are excellent.nnThe negative reviews here seem to be exclusively from an anti-vaccination stand-point, but I'm sure most parents want their children to attend a school where they will be as safe as possible. Requiring that all children be vaccinated against dangerous and potentially fatal diseases is part of ensuring student safety.
All 3 of my children attended St. Paul's for their early education. Our family had such a wonderful experience there and I would recommend it to any parent who is looking for a warm, thoughtful, and caring place for their young children. My kids received one-on-one attention from the teachers and the communication from the teachers and staff was excellent. The skills they developed there have stayed with them and helped them as they've transitioned into middle school. My family has continued to participate in the girl scout troop there and at the church.
