What an awesome reminder for today's world about politics in America and our Republic. It's a beautifully kept and well maintained site. The gift shop was not over priced and they have on site bathrooms. Considering we drove down from Austin that was a plus. We enjoyed our visit and very family friendly. Statues and buildings are in very good shape and each area had plaques telling a brief story. Definitely a cool experience.

Such and enjoyable experience. So much history packed into such a small site. We got the free tickets to walk through the church which was a great idea. Being inside gives you an idea of what the heroes went though to defend that Alamo. The grounds were well maintained. We went in the spring and the weather was perfect and the crowds were light. Highly recommend to any history fans.

My family and I came back for the first time since I was probably 7 years old and (obviously) nothing has changed (besides the construction that was going on at the time). Still a great place to take family and learn a little extra about Texas history with San Antonio's prized piece. I would 100% recommend coming to here if you haven't before - you're not a true Texan (nor are getting the true Texas experience) if you've never been to the Alamo.

A great piece of preserved American history. No cost for admission although you can pay for the audio tour and gain admission to the museum, which had artifacts like weapons, reproductions of period uniforms, maps, narratives etcnnBathrooms were very clean and there was a nice gift shop that takes up a whole building on the grounds where you can purchase interesting books for history aficionados, t shirts, hats and other souvenirs to remember your visit.nnWhen we were there there was a living history encampment.

The Alamo only allows 75 people every half hour into the church. However, even if you don't get tickets the free part is worth going to. My favorite exhibit was the 'living history' exhibit. Actor historians dressed up in period costumes that tell historical stories as you walk around the courtyard. The statues of famous people involved with the Alamo and there stories was interesting. Much more to see.
