These guys are highway robbers.nnThe town has around 1,500 people and I'd wager 50% of them are employed by the police department. Highway 72 just enters their jurisdiction for about half a mile. In that time the speed limit drops from 65 to 55 and boy are they waiting to catch you.nnI was driving late at night and I saw the police lights ahead, I didn't think anything of it because I wasn't speeding - until I saw the sign change to 55 and before I knew it blue lights. They were hiding in wait - when it was all said and done, 4 police cars were at my stop..... Four. I could hear and see them laughing and chatting in my review mirror.nnHow does this small town have/need so many highway patrol officers for such a short stretch of road? Money. That's why. $$$$nnI might be slightly bitter, but police are supposed to protect us - not rob us. Clearly I wasn't being reckless as I was just going the posted limit not 20 feet before.
Absolutely love the piperton police department they have always been here for us whenever we need them.we have mad respect for them. They put there lives on the line everyday.
Extremely rude and unprofessional. What ever happened to giving people (especially ones who have lived there a while) a warning and and sending them on their way? All they want is your money, not to protect and to serve you. And watch out for badge 718 ( black guy ) EXTREMELY rude
