Museum of Appalachia

Goats, long horns, donkeys,miniature horses, sheep, peacocks, a rooster, rabbits and ducks. All on just the drive up to the Museum. If you like Appalachian historical places and animals this is a great place to go. We always enjoy it!

This is definitely worth seeing! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Erie feeling walking through some of the buildings! You can see and feel the history!

This place is amazing. Many museums will have you pay the same price for not even a quarter of the history. My personal favorite part was the exhibit on folk music! They had so many instruments. I can tell that this place is ran with care, because it feels like home (and I’m not even from the area!)nnThey also had exhibits on Indians, women, and children. So the history telling aspect was much more inclusive than I was honestly expecting, which I must admit is biased of me. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in Appalachia, or simply road tripping like me. I’m very glad to have visited!

An absolute gem. Loved every part of this place. So many interesting things to see. The peacocks running around were absolutely beautiful.

This is one of the best Museums I have ever been to. It takes you back to a time before internet, TVs, cell phones, etc. Definitely worth the price. Plan to spend 2-4 hours here.
