In my early days I was a graduate student that worked for Virginia Tech on a project with Champion International Corporation at this site. It is now owned by the state. My research base was at this plantation in a small side house. The big house was a club house for Champion execs. Had some nice meals there with those generous folks. Saw my first ghost in that house the one and only time I took up the invitation to stay over!!!!

Very well kept place. This is a DNR property. I was impressed with the property and what they have to offer.

Don't offer tours so you can't really see much. Looks like it is used more for hunting location with targets set up around it
