Even though museum is closed right now because of pandemic the staff has been working hard preparing new exhibits and refreshing old ones. It looks great and I am looking forward to when it can re-open.

Website indicates museum is open. Drove 40 minutes just to find out it is CLOSED until mid April.

I went to the Night at the Museum and it was fun to see living statues come to life and share stories of cross cultural workers or nationals in first person! The painting is ornate and beautiful throughout. Many scripts alphabets are included in their coverage. It's kinda crazy to see how shapes of letters changed over time, or that different alphabets include unique sounds that mine doesn't! It's exciting to see what they're doing with unwritten languages today!

How often do we think about the origin of alphabets? For most of us... never! But this world class museum starts with Sumerian cuneiform and takes us through the history and development of alphabets and writing systems across the globe. It even introduces modern day alphabet makers working among language groups with no written language. There are activities for kids, but this museum is a beautiful place for adults to take time.
