I have a daughter and little brother and sisters that go to this school. There are many great things about this school. They are free to express themselves and learn in their own way. The teachers are great and they really take time with their students, because they have smaller classes. My daughter loves this school! The best part is traveling all over the world! Can't wait to join them!

My daughter in high school had a wonderful experience being in a smaller high school. There were no bullying issues, the staff and teachers knew and were invested in each student, going the extra mile to help them be successful. Hands on activities and experiences, yearly projects and the option for any student to excel and be given the support they need. A school that has IEPs for students who need them, also options for concurrent enrollment at UVU. My son in the elementary school had a wonderful year with caring, loving teachers and aides and staff. It is a community in itself. Highly recommend high school and elementary schools at Walden School of Liberal Arts.

This school has little to no cliques. You can walk through the halls and have a conversation with really anyone. Also, this school provides great depth into lots of subjects. I love that the classes are smaller, 20 people at most. You can ask the teachers more questions and get more one on one. I love Walden for everyone there and what they provide. The only thing I'd want to be improved is that if you're new there, they don't have any testing to put you in the classes (levels, such as a higher or lower math class.) you need to be put in. When I got the chance to possibly do so, they told me it was too far into the year to transfer. But, a friend of mine told me she had her parents talk to them specifically that she was to be in a different class, and she got to. Another good thing... You have a better opportunity to get the classes you want, and the schedule you want, while still giving you the required knowledge (beyond required ;) ). Also, the trips are immensely fun. Everyone there is so friendly and kind. It's school, so there is always the iffy people that don't make the experience as fun. Besides them, everyone is great there.

I attended Walden for all of HS -- the staff genuinely cares about the students. I actually WANTED to learn about the papers or essays I was assigned (with unique topics and open-ended ideas so I could chose what angle to take on it). We traveled the world, hiked locally and abroad, got close as students, and learned every step along the way. I now teach here, and I get to see, even MORE, how much we as the faculty foster the student's learning and thirsting after knowledge and life experiences -- things that will build them into great adults -- each making the world a better place. Any student should feel safe and find a place here.

I love the Montessori Method for my kids because it they have been early readers, so they are able to learn and grow from where they are at, not achieving a grade level minimum they met before starting school. The teachers and staff are friendly and supports the school vision to create a microscosm community for the students. Even if you only have one student attending Walden, ALL of your children are considered part of the community. We love our "hippie" school!
