G I Joe's Military Living History Museum is an awesome place to learn about our local military history! Odds are you will see the picture of someone you know because we put up pictures of all our local veterans that we can get!! Fun for all ages!!

The museum is very nice. Not a lot of people there but it does feature the local in state veterans. Some wonderful history in which you can Kearney about the sacrifices made for their country. There are a lot of Medal of Honor recipients from the North Carolina area starting with the revolutionary war to the end of of Vietnam. There is a section that has been started for The Iraq and Afghanistan war. There is no entrance fee but donation are accepted. Come by and see the history of our state.

Very nice displays, knowledgeable staff and a relaxing environment where Veterans meet to socialize and enjoy each other's experiences from when they served.

I was glad to see all of the local Vets that have served from Lenoir county. I was amazed that 3 of us from the same graduation class at North Lenoir were on the same shop. USS Carl Vinson.

GI Joe’s offers a place for non-vets to explore military history - and also a place for vets to gather and be honored for their surface.
