Atrium Health Cleveland

Aweful patient care in ER, waking 6 hrs on room, no food and test are completed, broken pelvis, pt had a procedure yesterday and has had no food except a cracker in 2 days! I told them 3 times she needed food, iv beeped for over an hour finally I went and told a nurse and still didn’t come, went to lunch! Mad is beyond the way I feel! They stand in the hall talking tho! Shame on the care at Cleveland in Shelby!

Personally, I have always received excellent care at Cleveland Atrium. I was resuscitated at two years of age on the nurses desk there. Years later...they saved my son at his very shaky birth. They transferred him to a specialty hospital at just the correct time. They delivered my daughter. They saved my father’s life on a very scary night while he was experiencing a heart attack. Several heart episodes later they always knew when to send him to Atrium Health Charlotte. They saved my grandmother when she needed a pace maker. They eased a grandfather’s pain from a brain tumor and a grandmother’s pain from cancer and a stroke. They saved both of my children from appendicitis, they repaired (twice) my complete ACL tear, they retrieved my sister’s and my bad gallbladders. They repaired my mom’s shoulder and healed my sister’s jaundice. They sewed my great grandfather’s thumb back onto his hand and they glued cuts together several times for other family members. They set my dad’s arm after a bicycle injury when he rode from Shelby NC to Myrtle Beach, SC. They comforted my great grandmother during some tough heart episodes. They delivered: both my parents, my sister, my brother in law, my son in law, my niece, my nephew and my great nephew. They have hired family and friends and have treated my friends and family like relatives. For a small town hospital, Atrium Cleveland, has life size comforts. Thank you for all you do for our community!

I think the care is good medically but the communication internally is very poor! One nurse will tell you one thing the doctor will tell you another and then another nurse will come in and tell you something totally different! It's extremely frustrating when you're elderly father came in through the ER and they admitted him. I'm an hour away and can't physically be there so I rely on phone calls and it's very frustrating not knowing what's going on.

Has to be one of the worst hospitals to have a baby at. I agree with others who have reviewed, my wife was treated with rudeness and very condescending nurses who only care about there convenience and care nothing about our lives and situations. Very terrible staff if your having a baby please consider going to another hospital as you will not be treated with compassion here.

The worst experience I ever had in any Hospital. I saw the E R Doctor for 6-8 minutes. Then the PA saw me in the emergency room. After that all I saw was the nurses on duty. I was sent there by my family Doctor for a stress test and other heart test. I never received the stress test and the nurses told my Doctor that I had refused the test, which I DID NOT DO. The next day they dismissed me with NO paper work while still hurting in my chest. The next morning I went to the Gaston NC hospital and was admitted and they done the stress test along with other test.nRev. Charles Edward Hutchinson
