McClain Lodge

We had a great time there today. The property was very nice and the staff was very informative and friendly. Matt was our tour guide for the safari and he made sure we had time to enjoy all the animals and told us about them as we drove around to each of them. The buffet was very good and reasonably priced. We needed a family day and a visit to McClain Lodge was a good place to spend one!

While visiting from out of town, we had a good experience at McCain Lodge. I'm vegan and my partner has food allergies. We understand that our dietary restrictions can be challenging to accommodate, but our server was helpful and very knowledgeable of the menu items. She helped guide our selections and the food came out as ordered. Members of our party ordered the fillet or scallops and everyone was very satisfied at how their food was prepared. Four stars was given instead of five because of the atmosphere. We were seated next to a service door for the staff and were distracted by the frequency the door was oped and closed. There was an abundance of screaming children in the restaurant as well that took away from ambiance.

Nice outdoor activity with the kids or alone. The walking portion is short but can be extended a bit if you spend a little extra time feeding each animal. The drive-thru safari is fun but messy!! Be prepared to have animals try to put their whole heads in the window if you're not quick enough in getting the food cup out of the window. We had lots of laughs and would recommend it to everyone.

I went to the bar and had drinks and dinner with my friend. The live piano music was nice. I needed to find something vegetarian on the menu, luckily they offered a vegetable plate. The brussel sprouts were very tasty as was the whipped potatoes. The bartender made very nice margaritas and mojitos for my friend. We stopped by the pastry counter on the way out and bought some goodies to take home. I like the birthday cake fudge.

Great place to get married & have wedding reception staff was professional the grounds was beautiful
