North Glendale Elementary School

It was a great school, with great curriculum, but I got picked on in 2nd grade and not much was done about it.

This school has outstanding staff. I am attending right now. Love the teachers! They're all so kind.

An inviting facility and positive community. Some strong teachers. Principal is very warm. However, we had a terrible experience causing us to lose our trust in the school. When confronted with issues, the principal's poor leadership skills quickly become apparent. He is unable to balance meeting natural needs of children, common concerns of parents, and support for his staff. He is quick to be defensive, does not follow through or follow up. This results in systemic issues in the school (poor communication, no accountability for weak staff, and veteran teachers being given unreasonable control over areas in which he is clearly uncomfortable leading, to name a few). Instead of taking a stand for what is best for children, his defensiveness and blind support for his staff rule his decision making. He is truly a nice guy, but an insecure leader. We were astounded by our experience and withdrew our child mid-year due to poor leadership, a weak teacher, aggressive staff unable to be self-reflective, and *exorbitant* amounts of standardized test preparation. We now feel we cannot send any of our children to NG. A devastating and demoralizing experience for our child and us.
