I had my hair done by Melissa and she was fantastic. I found this place by searching reviews and the only bad review I could find was not only ridiculous but I went to that persons other reviews and let’s just say..she one starred menards and Taco Bell, I knew I was not reading anything honest.nAnyhow, Melissa took a look at the photos a brought in and before getting started she went through the color book with me and even suggested I try “curtain bangs”, I told her I trust her and she worked her magic. She had me completely colored, cut and styled in about 2 hours. She did a shadow root which is new to me and I like how natural it turned out !nThe employees were really nice from the start. I was greeted quickly by a gentleman who was hair drying his client. While Melissa worked on me 2 other ladies working came over to talk to us. Overall I felt very welcome and everyone was really friendly !

I love the area but I just cannot recommend this place. I had Chelsea who was recommended to me and I tried the salon out because it is way closer than the girl I go to in Olathe- and let me tell you it was the weirdest experience... First, the two times she spoke to me it was obviously forced and so I was uncomfortable and didn't engage...2-3 hours of someone not saying anything to you is odd and uncomfortable. I spent most of that time listening to the other hairdressers and their clients essentially say nasty things about people which did not help the situation as that is just not my kind of place.nSo, I also have curly hair and she was forcing a small tooth comb through it dry and I heard her rip my hair a few times which was not cool. With the cut she was very slow and somehow still did not do a good job. I know exactly what to do with my hair and was pretty clear that I get long layers, was growing it out but needed to get the dead ends off but this was not done and there was still a half inch breakage that should have been trimmed in my layers that is still getting caught.nThe color is not really what I actually asked her to do- but It looks fine and she did not fry my hair so I was happy about that. I was more upset that I spent 200$ to come home with still severely split ends (which I will now be going to Olathe to fix this week) after the most uncomfortable salon visit I have ever had.

I had to leave my stylist of 15 years when moving to KC. Kristi was the best decision ever! She's warm, personable, knows what I want, and takes pride in her work. She is such a talented colorist and stylist. I have received numerous compliments on how natural my highlights look. Always an exceptional experience.

Great skills

Rio Salon is a beautiful and clean salon. They sell incredible products. Kristi B. is my stylist there, and I couldn't be happier. She loves to cut and style hair, and will do everything to ensure you have what you want. She's also very knowledgeable about the products and great at teaching you how to style like she is. Every time I leave I have the products and knowledge I need to love my hair every day, thanks to her help! I'd highly recommend her to anyone.
