Captain Salem Avery Museum

Great maritime museum with artifacts and history of oysters and their impact/importance to the Chesapeake. Also a summer get away for the Jewish community who were denied access to other beaches. A reminder of the prejudices that still plague us today.

Attended their annual Oyster Festival in support of the working waterman of Maryland. This is a fantastic event and one that I hit every year. The oysters are superb and right out of the bay. There's fantastic bloody mary's provided by George's mix and of course, beer and wine. With live music from two different bands, this is just an all around wonderful event.

Interesting, pretty, but the mosquitoes drove me away.

We love it! We go to the Oyster Festival. The grounds and scenery are beautiful. The museum is awesome.

I love an adventure! I love that my niece & her husband picked your venue as their wedding sight. I enjoyed the wedding with beautiful views. I enjoyed walking through the museum and exploring your grounds. I understand you all do tours and schooling for youngins'. Wonderful!!!!
