Turkey Point Lighthouse

Went on a weekday before noon and didn't have a parking problem but it might be tight on the weekends. Almost a mile between the parking lot and the lighthouse. The main walk isn't bad, only some areas are bumpy. Benches along the way if you need them to rest. Open field area for bird watching. Lighthouse is in a nice, spacious area.

I cant say much, we had about an hour+ drive time to get there just to find out that the parking lot was already full and we could get in until someone left the place, but saw someone just sitting in his car at the parking lot.... so yeah that was not cool. Hopefully we could go.there some other time

Turkey Point is a beautiful place, I recommend anyone to go!

NOTE: If during quarentine you think this will be a great outing, please be advised there are only 20 parking spots. If you didnt think of it early, its a long drive to simply be turned away. VERY heavily visited on good weather days.nIf you want a nice walk, this is a nice place.nIf you are just driving to see where Turkey Point Road ends, it is NOT at the lighthouse. You have to park and walk about 1 mile to see it. Turkey Point Road ends in a private neighborhood, at the 20 car maximum capacity GRAVEL parking lot.nIf you dont want to walk to the lighthouse, turn around at the posted turn around at the boat launch eight before the neighborhood (PAVED for you motorcyclists), much easier than at the light houses tiny lot.nObserve the 30 MPH speed limit. (no sidewalks and many blind curves and hills) Many pedestrians on road way. Frequently speed trap is set in nice weather days.nPark hours 10AM to 4PM weekly.nLight house/gift hut hours: limited, Sat and Sun ONLY, during peak months, when volunteers available (cash only). CURRENTLY CLOSED due to Covid19nNo swim access.nNo fresh water.nNo cliff edge barriers.
