Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge

This is a nice drive though area with no real pull overs or photo spots. I saw some beautiful birds, but no reptiles. There is an area set aside for duck hunters, which tourists should stay out of, but it is well marked and far from the road.

Great fishing

Wheelchair accessible ramps that keep you a few feet above marshland with views of vultures and teeming wih native and visiting birds in winter and spring as well as a view or two of stony-faced alligators, egrets and herons. Native trees and a glimpse of the invasive wild hogs that the state has a shoot-off for yearly. Another glimpse of our native habitat when few were here but the original native peoples.

For many years I have enjoyed Bayou savage I'm presently age and still going and sharing the view with my grang great grand children other family members fiends and out of town guests great part if natural nature history
