Please go there you won't regret it. A knowledgeable curator leads you through the history of new Orleans and the slave trade. Small group so any questions can be addressed. Surrounded in a old home with lots of interesting art and historical documents.

This place is amazing. It has some of the most premier art work in the world displayed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I really like the manicured gardens and the brick fence. It's a lovely space. It compliments the grandeur of Esplanade.

Stopped by the museum today without an appointment (they do very small group tours by scheduled appointments), and was fortunate able to get fit in since they were under capacity for the tour. I learned a lot more than what I already knew. The tour guide, Kim, is both funny and informative. The paintings and photographs displayed are beautiful, and there's nuggets of historical documents and information nicely displayed. Additionally, the house and the grounds are beautifully maintained. I'd highly recommend going if you'd like to learn more about local history, especially since the city is undergoing a lot of demographic and cultural changes.

The history that Dr. McKenna and his wife accumulated and placed on display at this beautiful historic mansion on one of the Most Iconic and Historic streets in New Orleans, Is beyond words. The tour was remarkable and I gained more than Knowledge than I could imagine. The books in the BOOK NOOK makes you want to purchase them all. A great boutique museum. I will be visiting the other very very soon.

Attended a wedding here. It was very nice the way that it was all decorated and how the space was used. The only thing is that guest tables were separated quite a bit. Would go back to actually hear the full history of the museum.
