La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Slidell - North Shore Area

This was my first time staying at this location. The front desk staff was very polite and mannered. The lobby was bright and welcoming. My room was super clean and smelled fresh. The TV picture was clear and the cable included some movie channels. Water was hot and had good pressure. The kcup coffee machine in the room was nice to have. The only negative thing I encountered was when I moved the toilet paper in the bathroom a silverfish jumped out of it and started scurrying across the floor. I had to end his life to ensure he wouldn't be running around while I was sleeping. But other than that one loner fish, everything else was great.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Upon checking in a nice conversation was had which also led to me asking about the best place to get crawdads for dinner. Kenney Seafood was the place that was recommended and we were not disappointed. We actually wish we would have ordered more but the line stayed long and also they were about to close for the night. The breakfast at the La Quinta was good. There was a variety of food and for me personally, the grits were really good. I would highly recommend this La Quinta. There is a lot in the area as far as stores go if you need to shop for anything from food to clothes.

We stayed here twice on our trip. The first night we were very hot and the front desk lady let us use a box fan which helped greatly. The second time was after we had checked into an awful LaQuinta and the staff here came to the rescue. We got hot again and borrowed another fan.nnThe staff here are very friendly! The whole place is non-smoking, which is great!nnHighly recommend this place.

Very nice, room was clean. There was no wash cloths or a shower mat for the floor. I would have given 5 stars other than that.

My original description of our experience did not post for some reason.nWe arrived at the hotel after driving 15 hours. In our room was a card assuring us the room was cleaned from top to bottom. The room had hair on the tub, what appears to be soda running down the wall by the door that was dried, the walls are so thin, the lady in the room next to ours was so loud talking on the phone we could hear her entire conversation through ear plugs. The hotel was not busy so I'm not sure why they decided to put us right next to someone else. The final straw was when a roach crawled on me in the bed.nWe packed up, checked out around midnight and risked our safety to drive the additional 7 hours home with no sleep.
