When we arrived there was no one on staff but there was a self guided path through the brick homes of formerly enslaved people who worked at this Plantation. The Plantation house was destroyed by Union troops in 1864 so only the brick homes of formerly enslaved people exist. We were disappointed that no Park Ranger was present to interpret the site.

This plantation is where my grandmother family The Buards came from. And this place is very haunted. Majority of the slaves that lived on this land are my descendants.

Really great park personnel. A real pleasure.

The ranger gave us a great tour. Super interesting. Clearly a lot of work has been put into preserving the buildings and historical artifacts. We also enjoyed a small picnic on the grounds.
