Thought the fact that Mr.Bontemps fathers oldest brother married into the Metoyer family which are descendents of the builders of Melrose Plantation Mansion in Natchez Ms( which was owned by a free black man) was really awesome having now seen both places
I can't really rate it because they were closed when we got there...
Loved learning about the history of the house and Arna Bontemps himself
Lots of history here. The City of Alexandria needs to restore funding!
