Drove through the base this weekend and it is huge. Nice big exchange and commissary and clean and spacious. I prefer Benning over where I am currently.

Went to jump School, communication, and CBR training at Fort Benning in 1967. Proximity to Columbus which is much better than cities have been stationed near Fort Campbell and Fort Bragg.

I haven't been to this place personally because no one will answer a phone for me to make an appointment. I have five different phone numbers and no one will answer the phone in the personnel office at the front desk , no answer. I need to make an appointment to get an ID card and that's impossible when no one will answer the phone. I am just really frustrated right now!
