What a shame. Beautiful hotel and great staff. But I was there for 9 nights and didn't sleep well any of them, so I can't give it more than 2 stars. Was put in an adjoining room where I could hear *everything* happening in the room next to me. The worst was when the infant was in the room and screamed all night. Not the child's fault, the walls are way too thin.nHad loud guests pretty much every other night. Not really their fault either, but it was hard as I was in town to work at the hospital 12 hour shifts for eight days and I'm completely exhausted. They offered to let me sleep in another room for the night if it was too loud, which is fine, but I'd need to move my things (which are extensive when you're there so many days) and it was a lot of hassle just for the night.nAlso had people constantly trying to come in my room and once, at 130am, sooner banged loudly on my door. I've never had such a poor experience and I'm completely wiped out.nIf you're looking to stay some place beautiful, come for a night. If you need to sleep? You'd do better in your car.nSorry to give such bad marks because the bed was comfortable and the staff was nice, but if you can't sleep in a hotel, what's the point?

Didn't stay there, just went to visit. I will stay there in the near future. I would love to see the inside. The outside is old and in excellent condition. It is worth stopping and going in, if you like historical buildings.

The positives: it’s a beautiful historic hotel, bed was comfortable, linens were clean and comfortablenThe negatives: the king size room was small, the bathroom was EXTREMELY small (the toliet and tub touched), the noise level from the street was loud and there many sirens, the main restaurant was closed so no breakfast option (even though they had the pub restaurant open), floors were dirty and needed a deep clean.nOverall, it’s fine for a night as stop over.

My wife and I stayed the original Windsor with the original settings in rooms we stayed in honey moon suite. It was so nice, we ate in dining room with waiter so professional the chef was amazing. The main lobby had so many antiques which were so interesting. The staff were very efficient. It was our first anniversary, now it has changed to modernize to the culture of today. Which can be good and also take away from the quality of a true hotel. Now it is said to be haunted. Not true, we never heard anything from the staff or the rumors so stated. Now the hotel is owned by me Patel , the hotel is no more than staying at a day’s inn. A tour priced at $12:00 per person is a scam, so mr Patel you should be ashamed of yourself for destroying history of a sumpter county historical site.

My wife and I took a day trip get away and stayed in the bridal suite. The hotel itself is wonderful and has a terrific staff. The condition of the room did surprise me though. Visible water damage on the wall and ceiling, a chair with a broken leg and mold in the shower.
