The APEX Museum tells the story of the metropolitan Atlanta region from the perspective of African-Americans, who make up a majority of residents in Union City.nnShort for the African-American Panoramic Experience, the museum is a stop on the US Civil Rights Trail.nnLocated in the historic Sweet Auburn area of Atlanta, it lays out the often-hidden ways in which black Americans have contributed to the country’s success.nnHighlighting the role of African-American pioneers to the region, it doesn’t shy away from more difficult parts of America’s past. These include segregation based on race, which lasted right up until 1964 in Georgia and the southern states.
I purchased tickets on Groupon and it was a great experience and educational for me and the kids. Definitely going back.. to go learn more about Atlanta.
After visiting the Center for Civil and Human Rights and after touring many of the Civil Rights notable historical spots and after going to the MLK Jr. National Park and visitor center, we went to this little gem of a museum.nnIt’s nothing high tech, but the history and stories on display, as well as the staff, make it well worth a visit. There is a very informative and important exhibit of African history prior to the slave trade when Africans were the Queens and Kings and movers and shakers of the country.
Introduce the correct version of African people in America. simply the best
A must visit. So rich in history & knowledgeable staff members I was even fortunate enough to meeting the owner a very Humble individual who knows how important sharing our history truly is Thank U all for everything.
