Sadly, I had to change my 5 star rating to a 3 (and I am being gracious) after a few less than positive meal events and ESPECIALLY after my experience on Sunday February 21, 2021. Previously, Newks is one of the few places I felt safe to eat in the store and get good quality food and service. Yesterday when I came in a few tables still had food on them from previous guests and 2 staff were separately taking up 2 socially distanced tables. One of the staff had her feet on the both seat with her head back appearing to be asleep. This was 2 tables behind the entrance. Additionally, because there were not a lot of seats open/clean, a staff member moved a reserved (for socially distancing) sign so a couple could sit and eat. SO disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite places.

Sandwich was very tasty. Mac and cheese not so much. Especially not as good as I remember....sad! Should have gotten a salad.

This newks location is great. Always great food and a good meal. Tables spaced out for safety.

I have been eating at Newk’s for quite a while, but have never had the Chicken Salad sandwich before. Thought I’d give it a try via DoorDash. The order arrived complete and quickly.nnThe 11 grain roll was dense and chewy and it had a nice subtle taste. The chicken salad was quite tasty but could use a little more mayonnaise (I added a container of extra mayonnaise just in case), a couple more grape slices and more nuts...but that’s just a personal preference and not implying that it was bad in any way. The fruit cup, the pasta salad and the lemonade were tasty as always. I would certainly have no problem eating that meal again in the future.
