Utah Pipebursting is a great company. We were referred to them from another company who could not fix the sewer line issues we had. The technician who came to our home was friendly, efficient, and straightforward. When the scope of the repair we needed was outside the technician’s experience, he got us in touch with the office who were fair and honest with their pricing and referred us out again when their schedule didn’t allow for the excavation we needed for a repair. I would not hesitate to call Utah Pipebursting again if we come into any other issues with our sewer line.

We are contractor's that have sub-contracted and referred these guys quite a bit over the last few years. To this point we had a great working relationship. Our last experience with them would leave anyone questioning this company. We hired them to get sewer to the property line on a local project, as they are equipped to do so. We set up dates, and kept getting pushed off but they finally broke ground a few weeks after schedule. They ran into several issues, and told us they would be a few more days. Long story short, they got the line stubbed to property but didn't patch concrete or asphalt as agreed and spelled in contract. But before their guys even left our job, their office called me for final payment. I wasn't on site and they offered to meet. The were persistent on final payment even though the project was incomplete, I agreed we could get them a check the next morning. I assumed having a good relationship they would finish the project as promised. A few days went by and the project had not been finished. I called in and spoke w their office manager. She explained they were losing money on the project (news to me) and they would need to finish more projects to pay for the concrete. The old owner for this company actually got on the phone with me and asked for more money, I explained to him we had already submitted our final invoice and they already received full payment. He said they didn't realize they were upside down in the project. I asked how it would be fair to ask our customer for more money when they already received the final invoice. He said they would have to figure something out. Another week goes by and I reach out. They agree to do the concrete the following week. I reached out again, they said they were unable to do it this week. The following week I reach out again, this time they told us that they could get to the concrete patch if we were to pay half. Really? We offered to cover the cost if they agreed to pay us back, because they kept bringing up economic hardships. They denied our offer. At this point our conversations were no longer productive, but the city had been contacted by the homeowner and they were required by law to patch concrete within a few days of excavation (this is nearly a month later). The city pushed the issue, and the concrete got patched. I am not sure if a bond ended up covering the completion or not. Weeks later they still had plywood and cones on site. This company is unethical, unprofessional and someone we would never recommend.

I am writing the same review for both Royal Flush and Utah Pipebursting because they seem to be the same (poorly managed) company. They advertise a free camera inspection, but actually charge $150, and then surprise you with a credit card fee as well. Upon asking for a copy of the inspection video, they wanted to charge another $60. I can't understand the point of taking the video if they do not intend to share it? Nor do I understand what could possibly warrant a $60 charge for a video they have already captured? Other companies included the video as part of the inspection -- I recommend shopping around. I imagine they would want to be my first call if/when I need the line cleaned or repaired, but nickel-and-diming customers is no way to earn repeat business, goodwill, or market share. Transparency and service are a much better bet. Hire a professional who is honest and forthright, avoid Royal Flush and Utah Pipebursting!

Our experience with Utah Pipe Bursting has been wonderful start to finish. As we began searching for a contractor to replace my main sewer line, we had a lot of questions. Jay answered questions directly by phone and text, even after hours and while he was on vacation until we understood every detail. His staff were all professional and polite. Not only were they on time, 6-8 staff were working and finished the pipes quickly so we were only out of water for about 3 hours. We had to wait for the inspection by the city a couple days before the holes were filled over, but the job moved along faster than we hoped. We had no conflicts or confusion from start to finish. The price was half of what we would have paid any of the other contractors who gave bids, and some were not willing to do the complete job from street to inside the basement, which needed to be done due to roots and corroded pipes. We wish we had the job done years ago.
