When I hear AMES one word comes in mind to me... EXPENSIVE... Not only that but the times that I've been there the salesperson always has a look on his face that shows no interest in helping out.. to be honest I don't even feel welcomed there.. the prices are outrageous.. that's why I buy my tools online.. and I tell people to do the same.. I wouldn't recommend going there, or at least make it the last option.. but better stop by Wisconsin Drywall Distributors first then AMES.. I prefer menards over AMES for that matter.. been there several times and I hate it.. don't think I'll be going back to AMES FOR A LONG TIME, that's for sure.. and I may be cheap but trust me you'll get USG tools, banjos, stilts and what not, online and for a way way (meant to type it twice) better price, trust me I've spend the money to say it with conviction.. I wouldn't recommend going there as the first option.. I hope and desire this review helps out a lot of people because if I'd known better before, I would of save some bucks!

Nice store has everything a drywaller could use. The manager was super nice and friendly and answered all my questions. I just wish tools where cheaper.. Once again manager was very helpful and I will be back because of the way he treated me.

Website says open till 4..nI drove over an hour to get here and the store is closed for yearly inventory.nGonna be a long ride home.
