Great store. Fantastic fishing section. Great clothing selection and you can buy both fishing & hunting licenses.

Nobody is very eager to help you. I was standing there trying to figure out where I would find an item. On guy told me to go ask another person because we was on his way to lunch. I guess my business was not as important as his lunch break. Customer service is lacking here. I also noticed many of the employees were not masked up. Ironically the sign in the door says they’re required.

Leo was awesome! Excellent customer service and went out of his way for me! I rented a drain cleaner and could not unscrew the screw that was on the attachment. I tried for two hours and it just wouldn't budge. I called Leo back and asked if I could trade for a different drain cleaner since the screw wouldn't come undone. He accommodated my needs. I left a happy customer and a clean drain!

This is my first go to stop whenever I'm on La Crosse, to pick up my fishing license. The staff is super friendly and helpful. This last time, I made it there with only 5 minutes until they closed, and I was still treated with all the professionalism and courtesy as I would expect if showing up mid-day. They have a nice selection of fishing gear, and live bait. Convenient location, and a definite stop if you're coming to La Crosse for some fishing.

I just spent $150 in the store. I called ahead for help to find items for a small project. The older gentleman on the phone was kind. He was even available when the younger gentleman I found when I walked in helped me find what I needed. I appreciate that the younger gentleman even walked around with me to find what I needed. I told them I was fine before I figured I may need a small drill. The 3rd gentleman I found was clearly only worried about upselling and was showing me drills at $100 and even when I mentioned smaller drills was still trying to up sell and even brushed me off while I was speaking. I am new to LAX, but not ACE or tools. I work in medical, have worked in legal, and have also worked in customer service. How you service the community means everything and reflects the business. Since moving here last year I need to replace my whole tool set, but the last experience could be enough to make someone order online versus coming in especially during a pandemic. It only takes ONE employee and/or a bad experience to change a person's mind about returning for business. People also spread the word about the kind of service they receieve to friends, family, and the community. Be mindful.
