I called Wally Schmid Excavating thinking that I would need to have my sump pump joined to the city storm drains which I knew would be costly but my sump pump discharge area is constantly wet. Wally Schmid generally doesn't do much work in the city of FDL but he responded to my residence within 2 days to give me a quote. When he got here and through our discussion, he told me that he didn't think he could help me as he was thinking the problem may have something to do with my radon system not being installed correctly. He must have seen that it was like speaking to someone in another language because he took the time to call the radon company and spoke with a tech. The tech verified over the phone that is may have been installed without a float so my sump pump runs constantly.nHe was honest and took the time to help me problem solve even though he knew I would not be needing his services.

There was damage to my pump tank of my mound system. I was able to get a speedy turnaround and the field guys we nothing but professional and courteous. My worried mind was repeatedly settled.

Wally Schmid was recommended to me and contacted by the plumber I hired to fix my sewer issue. They were told it was urgent. Chris came out the same day to assess the work that was needed. After finding out my family (wife, 3y old son, 2y old son) hadn't been able to use the toilet or shower in my house for 5 days, Chris changed around his next days schedule and coordinated with Quandt Plumbing to come out the next morning! In a matter of 7 hours, they were able to replace my main sewer line from inside to outside my home and give my family back the use of our house. This included digging a 15ft deep hole directly next to my house! Every member of their team was extremely courteous and professional. I can't speak highly enough of them. If there was a 6th star to give, Wally Schmid deserves it!
