Lots of history here. Wonderful home from the 1860s era. First Kindergarten building, old barn building. Be sure to explore the kitchen in the lower level and be thankful for modern kitchens with microwaves and food processors. Make sure you climb the top of the spiral staircase and ponder the view they must have had in 1850's.
Love it great history and I actually preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to the tour guide!
I have gone to this museum several times throughout my life. My Grandparents lived a couple of blocks from it in Watertown, so we would visit it about every other year in my youth. I was always in awe by the wonder of the past. I am fifty now, and I would like to see it even more.
A beautiful home turned museum dedicated to the start of the town and the history of the area. Also on the grounds is the First Kindergarten building. The Historical Society has done a wonderful job.
If you've never been to a house built prior to 1900, take the time and go see it. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.
